The latest offers around story in the Evening NewsNew claims that “offers over” prices are being ditched in favour of a new “offers around” asking value in Scotland have been published in a leading local newspaper – five months after the story was initially broken by Edinburgh’s premier property solicitor Warners.

Rival firm Knight Frank has repeated the Warners message that “offers around” prices are becoming more common across the country, due to the introduction of Home Reports.

The story was originally featured in the Scotsman on November 20, 2008, when Warners highlighted that offers over prices were starting to die out. The firm argued that, as Home Reports include a valuation, buyers were unlikely to pay considerably over that value to secure a property.

The story was also featured on the back page of the latest ELPG guide – which was published last week – as part of an analysis and advice article for new homebuyers across the Lothians.

In terms of expertise regarding the property market, it would appear that Warners are still months ahead of their competitors.
