Edinburgh Firm Ramps Up Capital’s School, Library and Council Web Speed – and gains the approval of the press
Commsworld, a telecommunications firm that has developed into an industry leader from its HQ in Edinburgh has managed to secure a raft of business boosting coverage surrounding its brand new deal with the City of Edinburgh Council in partnership with CGI, a global IT consultant.
The ultimate goal is to provide Schools, Libraries and Council buildings to get the fastest connection possible to allow more creativity and crucially, increased productivity. The deal itself is worth £186 Million and will spread across 400 sites and grant up to 100 times faster speeds in the Wide Area Network (WAN).
Commsworld is Scotland’s largest independent telecommunications and digital services provider and will be working directly with CGI as its preferred network provider to deliver the superfast fibre project.
The development of the CityFibre Gigabit City network has made it possible for this type of work to happen, providing a direct alternative to BT Openreach.
