Scotland’s national newspaper features PSL scheme

Orchard & Shipman Blog

Orchard & Shipman’s innovative Private Sector Leasing (PSL) scheme has been featured in The Scotsman’s personal finance pages.

The PSL initiative was first introduced in Edinburgh in 2005, with the initial aim of finding 1,500 homes from the private rented market within five years. The properties are leased to Edinburgh City Council on three or five year leases to provide accommodation to people who are homeless. The target figure was reached two years ahead of schedule.

The Edinburgh operation is now the largest in the UK and 11 other Scottish councils now have their own schemes, including the Borders and East and Mid Lothian.
