Direct Savings Scotland coldest cottageWarmth arrives for PR Scotland

Direct Savings heated up the media with a feature in the Press and Journal after installing the latest heating technology at Scotland’s coldest cottage located in Aviemore.

Living in a 200-year-old stone cottage with a tiny roof and single glazed windows, Alan and Fiona Stewart took the decision to install the latest unique home heating solution – Infranomic Far-Infrared heating panels.

Alan, who runs the internationally renowned Cairngorm Sleddog Centre training and racing 35 Alaskan Huskies, said: “I work outside in the ice and snow seven months of the year with my dogs which I love, but when I come home at the end of the day I just want to put my feet up in the warmth.

“Currently we have a wood-burning stove which is a lot of hassle and takes ages to heat the house up and after years of ineffective heating, enough was enough. After doing some research I came across the Infranomic panels, which not only promise to heat up quickly, but will save us money on heating bills.

“We will now have six of the panels installed throughout our home, as they are cost efficient & look much better than bulky radiators that would look out of place in our traditional cottage.”

“I’ve seen the temperatures here regularly plummet to -18C outside so I am looking forward to coming home after a training day in the snow and cold with the dogs to be able to feel warm again.”

Based on the same technology used in incubators which keep new born babies warm, the heating panels installed by the UK leader in high quality, innovative energy saving solutions Direct Savings will keep the cottage consistently warm even during the most extreme winter.

The new panels, which will be installed by experts, are akcnoweldged as a natural and harmless form of heating and requiring no annual maintenance once in place, they can also be designed to look like artwork or mirrors.

By installing the pannels Alan and Fiona expect to save an average of 45% per year on heating costs.

Ged Smith of system installer Direct Savings said: “Installing the heating panels into Alan and Fiona’s home is the perfect example of how this new innovative heating system can benefit any type of building from historical cottage to townhouses and modern apartments.”
