Bookings at The Corinthian Club, on Glasgow’s Ingram Street, are already up significantly on last year’s figures, as firms have rushed to organise their office festive parties.
Demand has been so high that the venue is already making plans to help customers book their party – for next year.
The Corinthian Club is now pulling out the stops of offer its Christmas guests a magical experience. Each of its 15 rooms will be individually themed, designed with its own bespoke baubles, decorations and festive lighting. In total, the venue has ordered more than 200 metres of garland, 10,000 fairy lights and 20 Christmas trees to bring extra seasonal spirit to Glasgow.
Busy chefs have also been working hard to plan for the Christmas food rush with an extensive list of catering orders, which includes more 800 fillet steaks and one tonne of turkey – equalling the weight of an Asian elephant.
Jules McKim, Sales and Marketing Executive at The Corinthian Club, said: “It seems fair to say that – after a few years where the economic downturn caused companies to reconsider their festive arrangements – the office Christmas party is back.
“Christmas is always a special time for us and our customers, whether they’re visiting with co-workers, friends or close family. Providing a really memorable experience, served with quality food and drink, is part of the magic.”
The Corinthian Club has recorded corporate bookings of all shapes and sizes in unprecedented numbers. With seven weeks to go until Christmas, the venue diary is already packed, with staff urging people who still need to make a reservation not to leave it too late.
Jules added: “Numbers of bookings are very healthy at this stage and indicate that people and businesses are financially in a much better position this year.
“A festive night out with colleagues or friends was always seen as the ideal way to round off a year of hard work and success, so it’s really encouraging to see lots of people have the chance to celebrate this year.
“The demand has been so high for bookings that most of Friday and Saturday nights in December were snapped up during the first half of the year.”
Stuart Patrick, Chief Executive of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce said: “Strong Christmas bookings are yet another indicator of the city’s economy being back on track. Glasgow is a hive of activity, with business confidence really climbing, particularly as the Commonwealth Games approach.
“Next year is going to be extremely important for the city and businesses are doing all they can to take advantage of the many rewards on offer. I hope every company, regardless of size, sector or turnover has an enjoyable Christmas party and continues to thrive well into 2014.”
