Check Out This Hunt For Hotel Tartan

Project Work and Other Clients Press releases

The Bothy Restaurant & Drinkery One of Edinburgh’s landmark hotels is hoping its hunt for style inspiration for its staff uniform will be well plaid.

The Bothy Restaurant and Drinkery at the newly revamped Murrayfield Hotel is appealing to customers and would-be fashionistas to stir up some fresh ideas for its employees’ tartan workwear.

With the Murrayfield Hotel widely regarded as an Edinburgh institution, The Bothy aims to find a new tartan design that keeps its uniform steeped in tradition to complement its contemporary Scottish interiors.

Getting To Know The Locals

Colin Brand, General Manager at The Bothy Restaurant and Drinkery, said: “At The Bothy we love getting to know our customers and are always keen to listen to their suggestions when it comes to making improvements.

“Our locals have already been great on other projects such as their contribution of black and white pictures to our ‘Murrayfield Memories’ photographic project which now takes pride of place on our feature wall.

“Our staff currently have a couple of different tartans to chose from but we would like to expand the collection as it offers a great talking point for visitors from near and far to learn a bit about our Scottish culture.

“We’re hoping our customers and other people will send us pictures of kilts they have seen in vintage stores and charity shops across the capital, so we can hunt them down to add to our collection.”

So far, the campaign has seen suggestions of a Corstorphine and a Murrayfield Tartan, but The Bothy are looking for people to post or tweet some more ideas, using the hashtag #Kilthunt, accompanied by a line telling them why they should pick their design.
