ECHC’S Christmas Doors campaign dances to the tune of successful PR
A HIGHLIGHT of the festive calendar, December 1 is the day when it’s finally time to open the first door of the advent calendar and really get into the Christmas spirit.
For much loved charity, Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity, December 1, 2018, also signaled the first day of its ‘living’ advent calendar campaign, where a live performer or act would be behind a door of the hospital every morning.
To promote the campaign as widely as possible, we know that media coverage all-important first day advent door opening – featuring Haddington Pipe Band – would be vital to success. Happily we delivered a stack of coverage including:
- A great feature in the coveted Life and Times section of the Edinburgh Evening News
- Top local coverage in titles such as The Edinburgh Reporter and North Edinburgh News

Our Charity PR efforts throughout November with stories behind the campaign meant we’d built a solid platform to launch the first “living advent calendar door”, which saw the talented pipe band give a surprise performance for patients, staff and relatives.
