AN EDINBURGH businesswoman is being sent to the dog house and is looking to raise a terrier-iffic amount on the day for a local charity.

Kerry Wells, Property Manager at Boyd Legal, has pledged to spend a full working day in a kennel at the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home to raise invaluable funds for the charity.

The animal lover, who has both a dog and a cat, will be locked up between 10am and 4pm on October 6th where she will try to raise as much money as she can for the charity.

Each kennel will have a laptop and mobile where the participants will be contacting their network to gain donations.

Kerry Wells, Property Manager at Boyd Legal, said: “A lot of people said I was barking when I first told them I was taking this on but it is great to raise money for such an amazing cause.

“The charity were just amazing when I found a stray cat that I took to it. I was able to keep visiting her until she was eventually rehomed.

“I am really excited for the day and can’t wait for the challenge! I want to raise as much as I can, my own personal target would be to raise over £1,000.”

To the 24 taking part perks will be on offer throughout the day whenever a target is achieved. At the end of the day the most successful fundraiser will be crowned ‘Top Dog’.

Nicola Gunn, Director of Fundraising and Communications at Edinburgh Dog and Cat, said: “Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home’s kennels provide a safe, warm and loving space for hundreds of dogs that come through our doors each year.

“By inviting business leaders from across Edinburgh to spend a day in the kennels, we are hoping to not just to raise much-needed funds for their care, but also to highlight the many animals who are spending months, even years, calling these spaces home while they wait for their new owner to walk through our door.”
