OUR social care PR team dominated the headlines after sharing the story of Mansfield Care resident who repurposed her 1953 wedding dress for her grandsons’ wedding.

After being unable to attend her grandson’s wedding due to the pandemic, Belhaven resident Netta (janet) Hastings used her creative ingenuity to incorporate pieces of her 1950’s wedding dress into her granddaughter-in-law’s bouquet holder and dress hem, touching the emotions of over a million readers.

The dress, which was sent from New York to Kilmarnock due to clothing rations was the talk of the town both in 1953 and 2021 after we issued a release showcasing the story to the nation.

Highlights include:

Our expert Social care PR team got in touch with Netta’s Mansfield Belhaven Care residence and heard the story from the care home manager.

After this, we contacted Netta’s daughter to get all the details and sourced the headline worthy photographs of the vintage wedding dress, as well as the modern refurbished version worn by Netta’s granddaughter-in-law.

The team then drafted a press release bringing in a host of invaluable results with key national and local coverage, directing attention towards Mansfield Care’s key target audiences.

The release showcased the care home in a personal, positive light, distinguishing it miles ahead in the care sector and illustrating how trustworthy and qualified it is to potential families looking for further information for their loved ones.
