Pet therapy initiative is a media success thanks to social care PR experts

care pr team at award winning scottish pr agency score outstanding coverage

OUR team of social care PR experts shared the amazing initiative of a care home in Edinburgh that has been conducting pet therapy sessions every week for over a decade.

After spotting the story about Belleville Lodge on our client Mansfield Care’s website, the team thought it was a great initiative and quickly followed up with the manager. This led us to discover how the therapy has been benefiting residents and that the home has offered the programme for over 10 years – with a resident pup called Sophie.

Highlights include:

  • 13 pieces of coverage
  • 175,793 opportunities to see
  • Featured in the Edinburgh Evening News, Edinburgh Reporter and Deadline News
  • Secured coverage in national, specialist, and regional news outlets
  • Featured in online, print and social media outlets

Digging a little deeper, the social care PR team learned about the sessions in greater detail and the visible effects it was having on residents.

From increased social interactions to improved nutrition and physical activity, this story shared a welcoming message with prospective families, helping to change the stigma related to moving into a care home.

Earning significant specialist and regional coverage, the release projected a new insight into life at a care home, drawing attention from the desired target audience.

Not only that, but the release showcased how fun living in a care home can be and that the staff at Mansfield Care strive to always put the resident’s wellbeing at the heart of everything they do.
