Bupa’s Darnley Court Care Home has been celebrating its annual summer fete with residents and visitors, helping to raise extra funds for the home.
Staff and residents at the Glasgow home on Nitshill Rd are thrilled at the success of the event with more than £1,300 being raised throughout the course of the day.
Residents and guests enjoyed a day of activities where they got to enjoy raffles, bottle stalls and cake stands as part of the summer fete.
Tracy Barker, Home Manager of Bupa’s Darnley Court Care Home said:
“The fete was a great success, with lots of visitors attending from the local community creating a really positive community feel.
“Events like these are a fantastic way to link with local people and invite them into the home, ensuring residents can socialise more within the wider community.
“We are also thrilled the event managed to raise so much money and would personally like to thank everyone involved. This provides extra funds to help with the variety of events and activities the home already organises so a great added bonus for the residents.”
The money raised from the raffles, bottle stalls and cake stands, will provide a great boost to the care home, with all proceeds being funded directly back into the Darnley Court activity fund.
“At Darnley Court we aim to ensure our residents have the best quality of life which is why we let residents decide what they want to spend the activities fund on so that they can do something they truly enjoy.
“Our activities go down a storm with residents so we make sure we put as much emphasis into our program as possible and let them decide what they want to do.
“We are very much looking forward to planning all our upcoming future activities and have already bought fantastic new garden furniture for our residents to enjoy the beautiful weather we have been experiencing recently.”
Darnley Court welcome the additional funding which helps support the events and activities they organise for residents on a weekly basis.
