A Care Home has continued its reputation for unrivalled excellence, receiving a five-star rating for its services after an unannounced inspection.
Blackwood’s Broom Court Care Home, in Stirling, was commended by the Care Inspectorate for its stellar care and support provided to residents.
Findings from the report showed the home had achieved top grades for the friendly and “approachable” nature of staff, thorough practice of training and supervision and general commitment to making improvements.
The Care Inspectorate report also noted that Broom Court had taken on board and actioned all three improvements which were suggested at its last review.
Findings concluded with an exceptional summary which stated the Blackwood Home offers “very good care and support to those with disabilities” – the feedback was also reiterated by residents and relatives alike who described the service provided as “excellent.”
Flora Hay, Manager at Blackwood’s Broom Court Care Home, was thrilled with the Care Inspectorate report and its five-star review of the home.
She said: “We are absolutely delighted with the review, Broom Court is like a family community and to have the Care Inspectorate recognise this is fantastic news.
“The fact that it was an unannounced inspection makes it even more satisfying as it demonstrates that we provide five star services all the time and not just for the days we know we have an official review.
“The relationship between staff and residents is truly second to none and the level of dedication and passion for improvement and further training has always been first class.
“All of our staff members are committed to providing the best possible care and are always willing to learn and develop their skills. Everyone is overjoyed with the results however, we never like to be complacent and are committed to maintaining – and improving – our care provisions.
News of the winning-success filtered up to the Board, with Blackwood Chief Executive Fanchea Kelly equally thrilled with the Care Home report.
She said: “Blackwood’s ethos is to provide unrivalled provisions of care to its residents – and Broom Court is the perfect example of this.
“The level of dedication from the home is commendable – and its willingness to make improvements and develop staff skills and training is first class.
“Training and development is definitely a priority for us and the recent Care Inspectorate report emphasises how this can translate into providing great care for residents.”
