Calum makes headlines with tilt at the U.S. Kids Golf title

U.S. Kids Golf coverage in the Evening NewsJunior East Lothian golfer Calum Hill has been making the headlines again after taking on Edinburgh Evening News scribe Martin Dempster in a special strokeplay match.

The 13-year-old from North Berwick, who is competing in the U.S. Kids Golf European Championship, defeated the Evening News’s golf writer 3&2 in the one-off match, which was organised to help promote the forthcoming tournament in East Lothian.

More than 400 kids from 34 countries will be participating in the European Championship – which has been described as the equivalent of the Open Championship for players aged 14 and under. Young golfers attending the tournament will play on five of the most historic courses in East Lothian and will be aiming to win places at the forthcoming World Championship in Pinehurst, USA.
