CALA Homes Takes Inspiration From Its’ Doorstep

Cala Homes Press releases

When designing its’ brand new showhomes, luxury house builder, CALA Homes, used an iconic location for inspiration.

CALA’s Dalmeny Park development based in South Queensferry has just launched two brand new five bedroom showhomes – both of which have taken design inspiration from the popular waterside village.

Local designers, Luma Interiors, were tasked with the job of bringing the five bedroom detached ‘Lewis’ and ‘Lowther’ showhomes to life as they sought to embrace the coastal town’s rich engineering heritage and maritime roots, to create two luxury showhomes for the January launch.

These locally themed showhomes feature inspiration from the world-famous Forth Road Bridge and Rail Bridge, as well as from the local marina of Port Edgar.

Joanne Macdonald,Owner at Luma Interiors, said: “Having lived in South Queensferry for some time, I love the rich visual and historical interest that the area has to offer and so felt it would be great to represent this in the showhomes we were designing.

As Dalmeny Park is located so close to two, and soon to be three, of Scotland’s most iconic bridges, we felt it would work well to channel this engineering history into the flexible design of the five bedroom Lowther Showhome.

Using contemporary riveted metals and distressed woods in key pieces throughout the home, we were able to cleverly introduce the engineering influences. These modern, clean lines and distressed materials have been balanced with fresh, modern colours and luxurious fabrics to create a homely, inviting design that is sure to suit all tastes. We also used patterned fabrics throughout as a representation of the water and surrounding countryside.”

Joanne continued: “Boats and sailing have also long been a part of South Queensferry’s life and so the five bedroom Lewis Showhome looks to tap into this with the use of lovely watery blue tones and whites reminiscent of canvas sails, and natural materials like seagrass and rope.”

CALA Homes BedroomCALA at Dalmeny Park is a development of 4 & 5 bedroom detached homes, 3 & 4 bedroom terraced homes and townhouses as well as 2 & 3 bedroom apartments. The development is perfectly positioned to enjoy all the benefits of quaint living – with South Queensferry’s selection of independent restaurants and shops brimming with local charm on the doorstep.

Commuters have the best of both worlds with nearby Dalmeny Railway Station offering regular train journeys to Edinburgh in less than 20 minutes, and direct access to main roads for those looking to travel to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Fife and further afield.

South Queensferry is becoming an increasingly popular location for buyers looking for the best of both village and city living. To see the showhomes represent their location so well is excellent and we hope people visiting get a real flavour for the lifestyle available here.
