Helping celebrate excellence with powerful storytelling and property PR

CALA_SITE_MANAGER_NOMINEES_HPR-2The UK’s most upmarket home builder is celebrating after one of its site managers has been crowned cream of the crop of the Scottish construction industry.

Mike Harding, site manager at Trinity Park, CALA’s New Town-inspired development in the heart of Edinburgh, scooped up the coveted NHBC Seal of Excellence Award at the fifth Pride in the Job regional award ceremony at the Hilton Glasgow Hotel.

Having already been presented with a NHBC Pride In the Job Award for the development, Mike was automatically shortlisted for the Seal of Excellence and was delighted to have picked it up.

Mike said: “I’m absolutely over the moon to have won the Seal of Excellence Award for Trinity Park.

“The project has certainly been one of the most challenging I have worked on for CALA Homes so it makes it all the more rewarding to have gained recognition for it.

“It wasn’t a straight forward new build development as we wanted it to reflect the traditional Georgian architecture of the properties in the surrounding area.

“This meant that we had to use complex materials that required a high degree of expertise and attention to detail.

“The hard work certainly paid off though and I am delighted with the end result that offers buyers the best of both worlds by combining traditional features with all the contemporary perks of a new build.

“Being awarded The Seal of Excellence award for Trinity Park has definitely been one of the highlights of my career and I’d like to thank the team at CALA for their continued support which has helped me to achieve this.”

SEAL OF APPROVAL

The NHBC Seal of Excellence Award is presented to the top ten site managers across Scotland. As well as undergoing spot checks of the day-to-day running of the site, Mike was also assessed across 38 areas of site management, including their technical knowledge, consistency in the build process, leadership and organisational skills.

Brian Johnson, Construction Director at CALA Homes, said: “The Seal of Excellence award is the pinnacle of the industry and it is tremendous for one of our site managers to have gained such high acclaim.

“It is testament to the high standards we strive to achieve across the board at CALA Homes, and demonstrates Mike’s commitment to the highest quality of craftsmanship and management.”

With a career spanning nearly 30 years in the construction industry, Michael, aged 50 has spent the past eight years working for CALA Homes, with the most recent three spent at the flagship Trinity Park development.

The latest award will add to a long string of accolades, Trinity Park has garnered under Mike’s leadership including the prestigious ‘Best House’ Title at the What House Awards.

With its mixture of 5 bedroom Georgian Villas, spacious semi-detached, 3 bedroom large mews-style homes and 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, Trinity Park has proved a magnet for families, professional couples and retirees creating a dynamic community.
