Every Day’s A School Day For Local Barrhead Care Home As It Gets Top Marks Across The Media

Millview Community Involvement Edinburgh PR coverage report

AN innovative school initiative has seen Barrhead High School students team up with residents at Bupa’s Millview Care Home in Glasgow to share and learn from each other.

Volunteering their free periods, pupils aged from 15 to 18 years old visit the home and engage in a range of activities with the residents.

The project aims to encourage young and old generations to come together, get to know more about each other and teach each other new things.

So far, this has included games of dominos, baking, the students learning all about history first hand and having sing-a-longs of hymns and old, classic songs.

Informing the local community and others in the care industry of the creative, social project was key to our Edinburgh PR agency when issuing our press release on the story. As such, we secured fantastic coverage across both local and care media, with the story also appearing online and in print and creating an amazing 24,142 opportunities to see.

Highlights included:

  • Key regional coverage in the Glasgow Evening Times
  • Local coverage in the Barrhead News in both print and online
  • Featured in top trade publication The Carer E-Newsletter, which is read by some of the industry’s key figures
  • Online coverage across multiple trade websites such as Care Home Professional and Care Choices
