Story of poppy tribute by residents at home is told with help of care PR experts

Bupa Claremont Home Remembrace Day

AN AYRSHIRE  care home has paid tribute to Remembrance Day with a memorial garden filled with red poppies.

Bupa’s Claremont Care Home, in Whitletts, Ayr, organised the garden on November 13th to mark the annual day and honour all those who have been affected by or lost their lives in war.

Residents and staff joined together to hand make and decorate clay poppies, which they then used to fill a small, Remembrance garden in front of the home.

Carol Barr, Home Manager at Bupa’s Claremont Care Home, spoke of how she wanted to make sure the home honoured the commemorative day appropriately.

She said: “Remembrance Day is always a landmark occasion for our residents and we wanted to create an event that allowed our residents to pay tribute to the occasion as actively as possible.

“Creating a display in the garden also encourages our residents to spend time outdoors, interacting and socialising with their peers.

“We are very proud of everyone’s hard work and we will maintain the garden to keep the spirit and memories alive.”
