Staff at Edinburgh’s leading letting agent Braemore Property Management have been toasted another success after their story about investing in student flats was featured in online property news website Home Move.
The publication, which is one of the UK’s leading property news web portals, reported on a recent call by Braemore to parents whose children are about to start university. Director Colette Murphy said that they should consider buying a property for their student children, which they could use as an investment by sub-letting bedrooms out to otehr students.
Colette added that, as the average parent will spend more than £10,000 on helping pay their children’s rent, purchasing a property is a wise long-term plan that could reap rewards for canny parents. She also said that parents were likely to recoup their initial outlay once their children had left university – as they could either keep renting the property out to other students or re-sell it for a profit.
