Boyzlife Make Care Home Resident’s Dream Come True

Bupa Care Services Press releases

A CARE home resident had her dreams come true when Boyzlife stars stopped off to visit her while in Glasgow.

Alice Sergeant, a resident at Bupa’s Craigbank Care Home, was overjoyed when Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy, the members of recently formed super-group Boyzlife, surprised her with a visit.

The lifelong fan has always dreamed of meeting the band members – made up of a merger between Irish boyband Westlife and Boyzone – and sings along to their songs every day. Alice, 60, has never seen either of the bands live and it was a dream of hers to meet them.

George, Alice’s husband, said: “The whole family came down for the day and everyone was very excited knowing the band was going to visit.

“When they did walk in it was a complete surprise to Alice and she was absolutely shocked. Once she got over the initial shock she was over-joyed.

“We are so grateful to Brian and Keith. They were happy to spend loads of time with Alice and have their picture taken.

“Alice had passed on her love of the bands to our two daughters, Sarah and Donna, so they were thrilled to meet them as well.

“It was a really brilliant day and it was so kind for Bupa to arrange this surprise for Alice.”

Edinburgh PR agency announces Boyzlife care home visitKirsty Elder, Care Assistant at Bupa’s Craigbank Care Home in Saracen Road, Glasgow, had contacted the band’s management to ask if they would visit Alice while they were in Glasgow on a promotional visit.

She said: “I didn’t think they would have been able to make the visit. If anything I thought she would receive a signed picture in the mail.

“It is incredible that Alice and her family could experience this visit and for Alice to fulfil a lifelong dream.”

Pauline Hunter, Home Manager at Bupa’s Craigbank Care Home, said: “It was brilliant that we were able to make this happen, but in reality all Bupa employees do this on a daily basis.

“They are always striving to create the highest quality of care for each resident, but go beyond that to ensure we can help create these priceless memories as well.”
