Boxby in Hell MailPioneering Scottish online business Boxby, has attracted headlines on an influential website devoted to the UK mail, post, delivery and courier industry.

Boxby is an innovative courier matching service to help online shoppers – particularly those using eBay – to get their purchases from one part of the country to another at the cheapest posible prices.

It matches buyers with delivery drivers on the appropriate routes who have space in their vehicles and can take last minute orders at low prices.

The business is the brainchild of Ayrshire businesswoman Sandra Patterson, who realised many online auctions site shoppers were put off making bigger purchases – because apparent bargains are often wiped out by hefty delivery charges.

Delivery drivers and courier firms also benefit from the Boxby service, by earning extra money on routes which they wouldnot otherwise get – so making them more fuel efficient.

Now Sandra has warned all freight and delivery-related businesses there are tough times ahead as the cost of fuel is set to rise alarmingly, and she has urged them to  plan ahead to survive.

Her expert opinion has now been reported in the dedicated mail, freight and courier news site, Hell Mail – and you can read the full article by visiting the site.
