A brand new invention designed to make crossing the road easier and safer for people with disabilities, has earned headlines after going on trial outside the Scottish parliament.
The ‘Neatbox’ is the concept of Gavin Neate, the former guide dog mobility instructor, who has been supported by the Blackwood Foundation in turning his innovation into reality.
After almost 20 years working with visually impaired people, Gavin wanted to create a simple aid to help them cross the road, harnessing technology in easily accessible smart phones.
The story grabbed an array of headlines, both on the Daily record and Evening news.
This was achieved as part of an ongoing PR campaign by Holyrood PR on behalf of The Blackwood Foundation.
