Blackwood Concept House Bags Extensive Media Coverage

Blackwood, one of Scotland’s most innovative housing and care providers, hosted its Annual General Meeting this year at Our Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh.

Building upon its reputation for delivering spectacular annual exhibitions, Blackwood went above and beyond this year, building a full scale replica of its highly accessible concept house for people with disability or mobility issues inside Our Dynamic Earth. What’s more, the leading care provider built the entire replica in just 24 hours.

The concept house demonstrated various innovative designs and inventions aimed at making everyday life easier for those with disabilities, with a key focus on how technology really can help people live more independently through digital inclusion.

The imaginative designs included  a revolutionary washing machine that washes, d15 SEP - CUT 2ries and irons clothes, kitchen appliances and worktops that rise and fall at the touch of a button and a spoon that doesn’t spill.

The annual exhibition was a huge success, drawing an extensive audience including Blackwood residents and volunteers, members of the public and a significant amount of media and press representatives.
