Fanchea Kelly, who recently celebrated an innovative year at Blackwood Housing and Care, will discuss the importance of health and social care integration at the CIH Scotland Annual Housing Conference 2015.
The event will take place on Thursday 12th March between 2pm and 3pm, and will focus heavily on the principles working in practice.
More specifically Fanchea has been invited to discuss how The Public Bodies Scotland Act 2014 is living up to its promise of bringing together health, social care and housing.
Fanchea is delighted to be speaking at the event, saying: “I’m thrilled to be attending the CIH Scotland 2015 and to be speaking about health and social care.
“It is remarkable to see how far the care and housing industry has progressed – and how the influx of modern technology can benefit this.
“At Blackwood we have placed a strong focus on introducing tech-care into our facilities in order to improve resident quality of life and independence.
“I’m looking forward to discussing our strategies and updates with all those attending the event.”
The conference will also aim to provide housing management staff at all levels with an effective opportunity to share information with each other and to hear about major policy and other developments in the field of housing management.
The conference is a great platform for key industry figures to share and discuss important developments and changes.
Fanchea continued: “We are looking forward to hearing a variety of perspectives on strategy and techniques and hope to learn new skills to take back to our organisation.”
Colin Foskett, Head of Blackwood Foundation, will also be featuring at the event on Wednesday 11th March between 2pm and 3pm. Colin will be hosting a session focussing on Digital Communities using their very own bespoken platform as an example of how to help people live more independently.
Mike Neilsen, Digital Director with Scottish Government, recognises the importance of the work being undertaken by Blackwood. In his breakout session he will be speaking about digital inclusion within communities and in particular Blackwood’s innovative project SMARTLife.
