Bride’s reunion with Grandmother is a media success thanks to social care PR experts
OUR Social Care PR experts caught a heart-warming moment when a bride reunited with her grandmother on the way to her big wedding day.
Bride, Jill Morton, made one last stop on the way to her wedding ceremony to visit her Grandmother, Margret Morton, at Mansfield Care’s Pine Villa.
When our team heard about the reunion, we knew it would make a heart-warming story.
Our Social Care PR team were thrilled with the stellar results of the release.
- 1,712,378 opportunities to see
- 25 cuttings across Print, Online, Social and Broadcast media
- Secured exclusive interview on Pure Radio
- Coverage secured across National, Local/Regional and Specialist press
- Key features in The Daily Record, Midlothian Today, The Scottish Sun, Daily Mail, Edinburgh Live and Edinburgh Evening News.
So how did we get these stellar results?
First, we scheduled a phone interview with Jill to find out more about the visit and what it meant for them both.
The call revealed how the dedicated Pine Villa staff were determined to help Margret celebrate the wedding day and coordinated a socially distanced visit from the bride, mother and father of the bride and bridesmaids. The staff also organized a live stream of the ceremony with a celebration in the care home and helped Margaret choose her outfit.
We coordinated with the wedding photographer and care staff to capture the long-awaited reunion, snapping pictures and shooting a video to help bring the story to life.
We then drafted the story and issued the release to press, securing attention across all media platforms.
The story featured across Print, Online and Social Platforms with an exclusive on Pure Radio Scotland during the Robin Galloway Breakfast show suggesting the estimated reach will be much higher.
Online, comment sections were flooded with positive messages and reshares. Highlights included a Facebook from The Edinburgh Evening News which generated 531 reactions, 38 comments and 23 shares.
Alongside the release we issued a video showing the reunion which was used online on the Scottish Sun and Daily Record. This generated more interest in the story particularly to users on social media as the video made the story more engaging than a still photo, viewers were able to experience and feel the magic moment.
Coverage as wide spread as this is incredibly valuable for our client Mansfield Care. Jill had nothing but remarkable things to say about the staff and level of care and dedication they provided to make sure her Grandmother Margret had a day to remember.
A story such as this affirms Mansfield Care’s message of providing the kind of care we would all wish for ourselves in later life – supportive, friendly, bright, positive, empathetic, respectful and homely.
