Bield in Search of Volunteers for Resident Developments

Bield Housing And Care Press releases

A very sheltered housing development is looking for new volunteers to help expand the social activities offered to tenants.

Ashgrove Court, a Bield very sheltered housing development in Blairgowrie, is looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to spend a couple of hours a week or fortnight helping out with the activities in the development.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to work with the leading provider of housing and care for older people in Scotland, helping to organise and run activities such as games afternoons and coffee mornings.

Jeni Sinclair,  Volunteer Development Worker, said: “This programme has an extremely positive effect on our tenants.  Being able to get involved in a range of activities and socialise with others within the community really enhances quality of life.

“We are always trying to come up with new ways to expand on this programme and volunteers are key to helping us achieve that.  The time spent with our tenants is rich and rewarding both for the volunteers and for our tenants.”

Volunteers only need to give up a couple of hours once or twice a month to support the ongoing scheme, spending time with the tenants in Blairgowrie.

The housing and care at Ashgrove Court is specifically designed with the older person in mind.  Bield being leaders in their field, are experienced in training and supporting their volunteers to the highest standard.

If you are 16 or over and keen to help enrich the lives of Scotland’s older people, please call Jeni Sinclair on 07972 002 236 for more information.
