TENANTS at a Port Glasgow retirement development celebrated Burns’ Night in style with a fun filled day of dining, music and quizzes – all with a distinctly Scottish flavour.

Bield’s Crosshill Gardens welcomed tenants, staff, family and friends to enjoy a traditional Scottish buffet.

The haggis was piped into the lounge before the address to the haggis was given by tenant, John MacKenzie.

The day kicked off with tasty Scottish treats, a Scottish quiz as well as ‘Sounds of Scotland’ by local entertainer Kenny Wilson.

There was also a raffle, before the day finished off with a game of bingo.

Tenant John Quinn then put everyone’s knowledge to the test with a Scottish themed quiz.

Keeping with the festivities, singer, Kenny Wilson, performed a selection of Scottish songs and encouraged the tenants to sing along to their favourites.

Michelle McKinnon, Retirement Housing Manager, said: “Burns Night is always a lovely occasion and a great time for a bit of a celebration. We welcomed tenants, friends and family to join in on the fun filled afternoon.

“Everyone was really looking forward to the night beforehand, which really highlights the community feeling at Crosshill Gardens.”

“At Bield we strive to make the most of our ‘Free to Be’ philosophy, where we encourage people to live their lives in the way they choose. Ensuring our tenants can celebrate Burns Night is a great example of this.”
