Perth based Bell Ingram have hit the headlines in the Press and Journal after noticing an unusual increase in the number of partridge shooting days, thanks to an unseasonally disappointing grouse season.

The land and estate experts’ dedicated Sporting Lets division, which specialises in promoting and marketing Scottish sporting estates, reported continuing issues with grouse shooting after a slow breeding season left numbers low.

In a bid not to miss out on the thrill of the shoot, shooting enthusiasts have now turned to partridge shooting days, which use driven partridge to recreate the excitment of a traditional grouse shoot.

Partridge also provide a cheaper alternative to grouse, providing another reason for their recent popularity.

Cardney Estate at Dunkeld, which is part of the Sporting Lets division, recently introduced partridge shooting days and as a result has seen bookings rise by 20% within the last year.

David Hendry, Estate owner, quotes in the article: “It looks like 100% of the partridge shoot days will be booked this year. Most of the days booked have come from those shooting parties who were left disappointed after their grouse shoots were cancelled.”

Coverage in The Press and Journal was obtained thanks to a sustained PR and media relations campaign carried out by Holyrood PR on behalf of Bell Ingram.
