The event will see more than 400 golfers from around 30 countries descend on Scotland to compete over five of East Lothian’s most historic courses from May 26-28, 2009.

The BBC reported on local youngsters Callum Hill, 13, and Lara Frostwick, 14, launching the event by playing a golf match with a difference at Gullane’s No.1 course.

Callum was dressed in full 19th century golf gear and playing with hickory-shafted clubs while Lara enjoyed the latest modern equipment from U.S. Kids Golf.

The BBC also ran quotes from tournament director John Godwin who predicted a high standard of play from the young players in May.
