US Kids Golf European Championships launchThe U.S. Kids Golf European Championships has been promoted to hundreds of thousands of readers worldwide after a prominent showing on the world-renowned BBC news website.

The event will see more than 400 golfers from around 30 countries descend on Scotland to compete over five of East Lothian’s most historic courses from May 26-28, 2009.

The BBC reported on local youngsters Callum Hill, 13, and Lara Frostwick, 14, launching the event by playing a golf match with a difference at Gullane’s No.1 course.

Callum was dressed in full 19th century golf gear and playing with hickory-shafted clubs while Lara enjoyed the latest modern equipment from U.S. Kids Golf.

The BBC also ran quotes from tournament director John Godwin who predicted a high standard of play from the young players in May.
