THE latest jockey to set foot on Musselburgh Racecourse is tipped to give others a run for their money as it’s announced Scott Mills (from BBC Radio 1) is to be this year’s VIP host at the venue’s exclusive new race night.

The BBC Radio 1 DJ will be joining attendees at the Friday Night is Ladies Night event on Friday 29th July where a night or professional horseracing is paired with sheer glamour and indulgence.

The two time Sony award winning DJ, who is best known for his afternoon radio show will be hosting the after-racing party and entertaining the crowd with his dance floor anthems. Musselburgh racecourse has also teamed up with three of the most prestigious Edinburgh night clubs, Opal Lounge and Lulu for racegoers to continue the party into the early hours of the morning.

Transport buses will also be available on the day for attendees travelling from Edinburgh City Centre for just £10 per person and is encouraging savvy revellers to book a seat in advance to avoid disappointment.

Scott Mills (from BBC Radio 1) said: “I’m delighted to have been asked to DJ at the after party for the first ever Friday Night is Ladies Night event. I’ve attended various race days at Musselburgh Racecourse a number of times and have always had a great time so it’s an honour to be hosting this exclusive night.”

Sarah Montgomery, Senior Operations and Commercial Manager at Musselburgh Racecourse, is delighted that Scott has confirmed his attendance.

Sarah said: “As guests go, Scott Mills (from BBC Radio 1) is a real hot favourite. He is one of the best-known radio DJ’s in Britain. We are delighted to officially confirm he will be attending and are very much looking forward to welcoming him for a fantastic evening of racing and socialising.”
