Banks Group in Turbine Success

Banks Group World of Wind PowerRenewable firm lifts off with online PR Scotland.

Banks Renewables have been featured online for reducing the number of turbines on a proposed wind farm site, following a detailed public consultation.

This is a positive achievement for Banks Group as by halving the number from 20 turbines to ten emphasises their committment to developing care philosophy and caring for those who live near proposed sites.

Some expressed concerns that there were would be too many turbines on the Ard Ghaoth Wind Farm near Drymen in Stirlingshire resulting in Banks acting decisively and revising their development plans to address those concerns.

The original plan was reviewed in November after local people voiced their concerns during a series of public meetings and a consultation survey. The design team went back to the drawing board whilst experts meticulously sourced the latest turbine technology to help reduce the visual footprint of the site.

The turbines will be slightly higher, but significantly more efficient meaning they can reduce the number on site while still producing the majority of energy. As a result of the improved efficiency Banks are in the position to offer an enhanced community fund which will be confirmed within a few weeks.
