The granting of planning permission  for Middle Muir Wind Farm, North of Crawfordjohn is a landmark decision, as 7 of the 15 turbines within the wind farm reach to a height of 152m, the highest turbines approved on the UK mainland.

This ensures that the turbines are able to maximise the electricity generated from the available 27 SEP The Scotsman PAGE 15 CROPwind resource, which is good for both the environment and the economy.

It is unsurprising that this story has been picked up by a number of National newspapers with extensive coverage on the sheer height of the wind turbines alone.  Not to mention the fact that the 51MW Middlemuir Wind Farm will produce enough clean, green energy to power around 28,253 homes.

SEP 27 The Herald PAGE 7 CROPThe project was launched by Banks Renewables, when it was recommended for planning approval at the planning committee of July 2013.
