Ball Busting Katie Price Blames her Teeth for Backing Out of Jungle Challenge

I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here contestant Katie Price has left a top Scottish dentist baffled – after blaming her dental veneers for leaving her unable to take part in a bush tucker trial.

Cosmetic dental expert Dr Biju Krishnan said having professional veneers would not stop a person enjoying even the bizarre dishes served up to contestants during Saturday night’s episode of the popular TV show.

Katie said she could not chew her way through a dish of kangaroo testicles, citing her “new teeth” as the reason for her performance against opponent Kim Woodburn.

The glamour model – formerly known as Jordan – even requested a knife and fork to cut up the unappetising dish, before eventually passed on the task.

She said afterwards: “I couldn’t put it in my mouth because I couldn’t eat it with my teeth. I can’t eat that.”

But Dr Krishnan, of Lubiju, Scotland’s leading holistic dental surgery, said: “Veneers are generally very durable, and porcelain will resist chipping better than normal fillings.

“Though there is a low chance they may come adrift if you bite on something very hard, the kind of tasks in I’m a Celebrity’s bush tucker challenge should not have posed a problem for Katie, especially if her veneers were of good quality and well fitted.”

A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain made to fit over the front surface of a tooth, like a false fingernail fits over a nail.

Dr Krishnan added: “If a person does not want to go for custom-made veneers they could opt for Lumineers – reinforced, ceramic veneers which can be made as thin as 0.2mm, but with the same durability as normal veneers.”
