“The reason CommScope provides so much of the communication infrastructure for global business is because it continually invests in the quality of both its products and services.  This accreditation says that we meet the same exacting standards.”

CommScope’s business now spans the entire infrastructure vital to modern communications, including telephony, broadband and wireless communications.  When the company launched in the US 30 years ago, its main product was telephone cable. Communcations Specialists

Arthur McKay has been a cabling partner on the SYSTIMAX system for a number of years. It has now invested a gruelling 12 months of effort to earn the new accreditation, which covers the operation of CommScope’s intelligent infrastructure management product, iPatch™.

Dave McLean added: “What iPatch™ does is track all cabled connections across a business or enterprise – which could be hundreds or even thousands of devices on numerous different sites.

“A major business may have thousands of employees, with new people joining all the time, while others leave or some simply move desks. That can be a massive logistical puzzle to sort out and keep track of.

“The iPatch™ technology allows a controlled IT management for any programme of adds, moves and changes. It even distributes that work to individual technicians to be sorted out. The system also monitors to ensure those connections and changes are made correctly and also keeps a record of everything.

“It is the kind of quietly amazing, out-of-sight technology that most people are not even aware of – yet if it wasn’t there, it would be virtually impossible for many major businesses to function.”

Now Arthur McKay is one of only eight accredited iPatch Solutions BusinessPartners in the UK. The 60-strong team in the Networks Division provide a blend of cabling expertise, networking knowledge of routers and switches and detailed proficiency in server and desktop management.

Dave added: “We already have we have Microsoft accredited experts as well as Cisco and HP accredited people, on top of our main cabling skills.

“With this iPatch™ accreditation we have been able to blend the team of specialists to get the most rounded possible approach to ensure we provide the best solution.”

Arthur McKay has almost 660 staff across the UK and its fleet of 130 distinctively-branded vehicles are a common sight all over the country.
