on behalf of Scottish Business Resilience Centre
Crime Fighting for PR Scotland.
Sean Davidson, is set to conduct a first of its kind assessment to stamp out the crimes posing the greatest threat to Scotland’s recovering economy.
Davidson’s role, which was funded by the Proceeds of Crime Act, is to manage a strategic business crime assessment across different industry sectors to determine the true cost of crime and in turn the impact it has on Scottish businesses.
It’s anticipated that the assessment will provide informed and credible evidence to direct the SBCC on how to work with the Scottish Government, Law Enforcement, Fire Services and business community to help make Scotland safer and more secure for business.
Davidson, who has worked in the private sector for G4S and Reliance Secure Task Management, said: “This is a challenging but very rewarding role to be involved in. Cyber crime alone is estimated to cost Scottish businesses over £5 billion which gives you an idea of the magnitude threats all businesses, regardless of size or location, are faced against.
“The SBCC has made significant steps in trying to tackle issues businesses face and this is another fantastic opportunity for it to work with its members, partners and investors and try to really establish the areas we might be leaving ourselves open to for criminals.”
