Amazing Grace a Fundraising Success

GENEROUS Scottish business people have raised £82,450 for children’s causes at a charitable black tie event.
Hosted by one of Scotland’s leading legal firms, Gilson Gray, the third annual “GRACE Banquet” exceeded the impressive fundraising totals of the past two years – thanks to the support of more than 300 guests from across the Scottish business community.
This year’s event raised money for Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity (ECHC) and Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity (GCHC). The charities were chosen by staff at the firm which has bases in both cities.
Glen Gilson, Managing Partner of Gilson Gray and Chairman of the Group, said: “Since conception we have enjoyed substantial growth. We are therefore fortunate to have a platform to support crucial charitable causes and our preference has always been the support of childrens charities such as the beneficiaries of Grace this year.”
Matthew Gray, Managing Director of Property Services at Gilson Gray added: “Events like this show that there is real social responsibility throughout the Scottish business world – and we would like to sincerely thank all who contributed to this special evening.”
The glittering GRACE banquet by Gilson Gray took place at Prestonfield House, Edinburgh, on Friday 6th October 2017. It featured an unusual evening of entertainment and fine dining including the events signature table competition overseen by TV star Sally Gray MBE.
Roslyn Neely, Chief Executive, Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “It was a brilliant night and it was amazing to see the incredible sums of money raised by generous people in the audience.
“The funds raised will be used to transform the experiences of children and young people in hospital, so they can be a child first and a patient second.”
Shona Cardle, Chief Executive, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “The Grace Banquet was a wonderful event, and we are delighted to have been a part of it.
“We would like to thank Gilson Gray for their tremendous support, as this generous donation will go a long way in supporting the 168,000 children treated at Scotland’s largest children’s hospital each year.”
Gilson Gray is based in Glasgow (160 West George Street) and Edinburgh (29 Rutland Square) with a radical client-focused strategy that offers a cost effective alternative to the top ten firms in the country.
The firm recently landed six awards at the ACQ5 legal awards – the third year in a row that Gilson Gray has seen success – including Law Firm of the Year, Managing Partner of the Year and Insolvency Lawyer of the Year, all for the second time in three years.
The Firm was also recently recognised as Best New Scottish Company, M&A Firm of the Year for the second year running and, crucially, Customer Focus Firm of the Year.
