Agency Comments on Welfare News

on behalf of Orchard & Shipman
Director of Orchard & Shipman and forward thinking lettings agency Letfirst Angela McLachlan, was called upon to comment on the impact of welfare reforms on a leading housing news website.
24 Dash is the UK’s most up to date social housing and public sector news website and featured an article on the fact that women are the biggest victims of the coalition’s welfare blitz – an issue which Orchard & Shipman knows all about.
65% of Orchard & Shipman’s client base is female and the lettings agency, which specialises in providing housing for those on low income or benefit, believes that changes to welfare will create extra barriers to women, particularly those in single parent families, when it comes to finding housing.
Orchard & Shipman works with such families to help break down these barriers to housing, by removing the need for deposits and working with private landlords and local authorities.
The full article can be read online and the statement was issued on behalf of Orchard & Shipman by Holyrood Partnership as part of an ongoing PR and media relations campaign.
