Edinburgh PR Agency and Renewables firm achieve bumper coverage announcing news of a 26 turbine wind farm application
A gust of great coverage was blown in the direction of Banks Renewables this week, as it submitted plans for an ambitious project which could radically boost the economy of East Ayrshire – by up to £69million over 25 years.
Banks Renewables recently submitted a proposal to the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents and Deployment Unit and East Ayrshire Council aimed at building the 26 turbine Lethans Community wind farm.
The site benefits from its geographical position, located in a remote hidden area renowned for its high wind speeds.
If the proposed site gets the green-light, the wind farm would generate a great quantity of electricity, bringing a high financial benefit to communities, which recently struggled because of the closure of their coal mines.
Predicted construction costs are £105 million with the possibility of additional £21 million to design various contracts, incorporating different services, such as catering facilities.
If the project is authorized, Banks Renewables would also establish partnership contracts with local communities, allowing them in this way to earn 2.5% of the wind farm incomes.
Positive local coverage in the Ayrshire Post, Irvine Herald, Cumnock Chronicle and Kilmarnock Standard, detailed the extensive potential benefits of the Lethans site.
This latest media success is thanks to the collaboration existing between Banks Renewables and Holyrood Partnership.
