Energy Renewables firm blown away with coverage achieved by Edinburgh PR agency
Banks Renewables community plans for the Knockendurrick wind farm has picked up quality media coverage – appearing in both local and national news outlets.
Banks renewables is a branch of Banks Group which develops land for a variety of uses. In this case they are developing a wind farm near Twynholm, in Dumfries and Galloway. Its plans for the Knockendurrick wind farm have now been amended following a review by a number of consultees.
A key feature of the modified design will be a reduction in the proposed turbine heights from 132m to 115m while the seventh turbine would be reduced from 132m to 100m.The proposed changes will decrease the output of the farm from 23.8MW to 14MW. The revised plans will be submitted to the Dumfries and Galloway Council in the coming weeks.
News of these alterations reached the media and the Knockendurrick Wind Farm development saw coverage in reNEWS which is an online publication, regarded as a leading source of information on the renewable energy as well as in the BBC Online, which, alone, records approximately 40 million unique readers a week. Further publications picked up the coverage such as the Galloway Gazette and DGWGO, which are both local to the borders.
Due to strong local support and interest, Knockendurrick Community Wind Farm is offering the local community the opportunity to buy up to 10 per cent equity in the project, an increase from the original five per cent included as part of the planning application.
