The HeraldThe ExpressLand and property agent Bill Ingram has landed some superb media coverage for handling the sale of an island linked to Bonnie Prince Charlie.

Wiay near Benbecula was once a hide out for the Young Pretender after he saw his Jacobite uprising crushed at the Battle of Culloden.

Now it is being sold through Bell Ingram – and the story captured the imagination of the biggest newspapers in Scotland.

After first featuring in Scotland on Sunday, the story of how Charles Edward Stuart hid from English forces on the deserted island was followed up by the Daily Mail, the Express and The Herald.

The Scottish Daily Mail is a media powerhouse, selling around 100,000 copies a day, while the newspaper’s website is now the most viewed in the world.

Daily MailArch rival The Express sells 55,000 copies a day in Scotland and gave the story a full page show, also including a number of pictures.

As Scotland’s biggest-selling broadsheet, The Herald is renowned as a quality newspaper and sells close to 50,000 copies every day.

The festival of coverage was achieved for Bell Ingram with help from PR experts at Holyrood Partnerhsip and you can read the original media release by clicking here.
