PR photography captures swim superstar teaching children in West Lothian
THE opportunity for youngsters in Broxburn to take part in a swim class led by Olympic, World & Commonwealth Champion Duncan Scott was captured in eye-catching PR photography.
Duncan, the UK’s most decorated athlete from the Tokyo Olympic Games, made a splash at Xcite’s Broxburn Sports Centre to celebrate West Lothian Leisure being recognised as Learn to Swim Provider of the Year.
Xcite is one of 37 aquatic providers delivering The Learn to Swim framework – a partnership between Scottish Swimming and Scottish Water.
To ensure the celebration made a big impact in the media, Holyrood PR liaised with Scottish Water and Scottish Swimming to set up a photocall designed to capture special moments between Duncan, youngsters and the provider.
Over 130 children took part in lessons throughout the afternoon which enabled the photographer, Ian Georgeson, to fulfill the pre-agreed while also getting additional stock-like content which is beneficial for future PR activity.
The most eye-catching images of the day include Duncan showcasing specific swim styles, youngsters jumping in from the side of the pool and interactive shots during the lessons. While more corporate images of partners, providers and staff were also captured for internal use.
The photography helped build a compelling and powerful media profile to showcase this story and helped cut through with important key messages. It also gave potential attendees an insight into what the Learn to Swim programme offers and the opportunities being involved can bring.
