BT Cup winners, Heriots Rugby Club, are set to strongly tackle their next season after securing a vital sponsorship deal with a renowned house builder.
Following a successful two years supporting the club, CALA Homes (East) has announced it will be continuing the teams’ sponsorship for an extended period, totalling three years overall.
Heriots Rugby Club invests the much needed sponsorship funds into the day to day running of the prestigious club, as well as to helping towards payments for coaches, medical staff and nutritionist supplements – all vital for players’ development and wellbeing. The money also helps manage the costs of the youth section including first aid facilities, coaching courses and physiotherapy.
The clubs 1st XV team achieved treble success last season after winning the Charity Shield, BT Scottish Cup and BT Premiership for the first time ever since the club was founded in 1890.
Meanwhile, the youth section of the club has 250 children starting from six years old who attend weekly training sessions and play friendly games every Sunday. This opportunity enables them to stay active with kids their own age and develop their rugby and team skills throughout the season.
Ian Milne, Sponsorship & Marketing Manager at Heriots Rugby Club, said: “We continue to be very grateful to CALA Homes for their long term support of Heriots Rugby Team.
“This is the third year CALA has supported the club and it is a vital part of our continuing success – so to have the sponsorship for another year is just fantastic. CALA’s backing allows us to continue to provide a great experience for all our players, particularly our young players, and for those who coach and support them.
“Our junior squads are a central part of Heriots Rugby Club and the wider community, and this sponsorship will help our young players to develop and improve their sporting skills, which in turn helps them in various other aspects of life, while keeping them healthy and active.
“We look forward to seeing our players going from strength to strength in the coming years.”
Heriots Rugby Club has always been keen to nurture young talent and, historically, has one of the most successful reputations in club rugby in Scotland in terms of results and playing numbers.
CALA Homes’ continued commitment for the next year allows them to concentrate all their efforts on the pitch.
Stala Thomson, Sales Manager at CALA Homes (East), voiced her continued support for Heriots Rugby Club.
She said: “CALA Homes is passionate about community spirit and you couldn’t get more to the heart of that than with this local rugby club, as the games bring everyone together.
“We look forward to seeing the club continue to give its players the fantastic opportunities it has done for so many years and you never know, they may even pave the way for a couple of Scotland’s future stars.”
