3500 Square Foot Expansion at Gilson Gray’s Glasgow Office

Gilson Gray has expanded onto the entire second floor at its 160 West George Street office, while also retaining the ground floor – increasing total office space to over 10000 square feet.
Recent high profile acquisitions, which include the recruitment of the entire experienced commercial Litigation team from Morisons Solicitors, along with a Residential Conveyancing team from Warners Solicitors, have contributed to the growing headcount.
Glen Gilson, Managing Partner at Gilson Gray, believes that the move signals the firm’s ambitions and commitment to Scotland’s two largest cities.
He said: “From the outset we have strived to offer complete balance between Edinburgh and Glasgow, in response to demand and in order to service clients who operate across the central belt.
“The success of the last two years has enabled us to grow significantly in both locations and we hope to announce further expansionist activity, matched to our clients needs, in short course.
“Having such a presence in both cities also allows access to a wide pool of talent, as we continue to recruit some of Scotland’s top practitioners across a number of disciplines.”
The office expansion – increasing the Glasgow office floorspace from 2500 to 6000 square foot – was completely self funded and is a 10 year lease, with office design consultancy Space Solutions ensuring an efficient use of space is achieved.
Glen added: “While the business has grown, the original firm philosophy – to provide a transparently and persuasively priced service and only employ partners and staff that know how to engage properly with clients to make the service exceptional – continues to be the bedrock that we operate upon. ”
In 2014, Gilson Gray opened as the largest full service law firm launch in Scottish legal history, with a portfolio of talent poached from the leading firms in Scotland – opening simultaneously in Glasgow and Edinburgh with a radical client-focus strategy that offers a cost effective alternative to the top ten firms in the country.
