How our Property PR agency helped the accolades rain down at remarkable development

CALA's The Crescent takes home a trio of awards at the Scottish Home Awards | Property PR

WHILE not all that glistens is gold, CALA Homes East’s flagship development has well and truly proven its 24-carat credentials – by sweeping up across some of Scotland and the UK’s top property industry awards.

A feat of vaulting ambition, The Crescent at Donaldson’s posed a rare and special challenge when it finally opened its sales office doors in early 2019.

Bringing 84 luxury, modern apartments to the market in Edinburgh as part of a sensitive restoration of the Donaldson’s estate posed an exciting new task for CALA, especially when it came to PR and brand positioning.

The (quite ludicrously) beautiful, almost entirely glass-fronted development is the brainchild of one of the UK’s top architects, Richard Murphy OBE. It’s design embraces the setting, pays homage to Edinburgh’s New Town architecture and follows on the vision of the architect of the original building on the estate, William Playfair.

While we have helped reflect the brilliant design with extensive media coverage, from its eagerly anticipated launch, sales success, to a photo opportunity with Tesla to herald its record-breaking EV-charging provision, we have also been involved in planning and preparing award entries across the UK’s glitziest property sector events.

Here we worked closely with the experts from throughout CALA East’s sales and marketing teams, as well as its construction specialists and top-of-their-game suppliers.

The results were mindblowing – however they were entirely reflective of this milestone project.

Throughout 2019, from architecture to design to innovation, The Crescent came out on top 12 times, across a total of six different Scottish national and UK national award ceremonies, culminating in it scoring two of the property and construction industry’s most esteemed accolades at the renowned WhatHouse? Awards.

It may be a cliche, but these truly are this huge and crucial industry’s Oscars – so a double win will go down in CALA history.

Not only that, The Crescent’s wins at the Homes for Scotland awards helped CALA Homes go onto become ‘Homebuilder of the Year’ for 2019.

The development, which boasts many of the city’s most expensive and luxurious apartments, has won accolades over some of the UK’s premium residencies, including the most luxurious homes London currently has to offer.

Not only that, all of its individual successes have meant that The Crescent has become CALA Homes’ most award-winning development ever.

Being awarded for the hard work and dedication which goes into making these kinds of developments is incredible for the CALA team. However, it also goes a long way in helping to sell the lifestyle of The Crescent to potential buyers. Who wouldn’t want to walk into a shelf full of gold awards when they’re considering a new home?

It reinforces the luxury qualities of the development, the excellence in architecture and design and the credibility of CALA in delivering homes of an exceptional standard.
