Edinburgh’s leading property solicitor Warners has been celebrating another piece of high-profile media coverage in a top property news blog.
My First Home ran an analysis story from Warners, which suggested that the government decision to reintroduce Stamp Duty would be a “winter warmer” for the Lothians’ property market.
Warners said that the decision to reintroduce the 1% tax on properties priced between £125,000 and £175,000 from January 1st would lead to a flurry of activity over the winter months. Estate agency partner Scott Brown suggested that many would-be buyers would try to purchase a new home before the New Year in order to avoid the extra charges.
