CityLets, the UK’s number one residential letting agency, has earned splash coverage in Glasgow Now this week, as well as coverage in the Edinburgh Evening News, and Edinburgh Now.

Citylets published reports that highlight the stability of the private rented sector (PRS), and emphasises that while many people could afford to buy homes, they are choosing to rent.

Shawlands resident Fiona Thomson, says that while she could afford a mortgage, renting is a more attractive prospect.“Not being liable to pay for repairs, the flexibility of being able to leave at a month’s notice and not needing to shell out a mortgage deposit mean rent is right for us.”

Analysis of the 2011 Census showed that the number of people the PRS doubled from 2001-2011, with the sector accounting for 12.4% of all Scottish households.
