Bield Housing And Care Press releases

Scottish PR For Leading Care And Housing Provider For Legacy Campaign

Bessie Inglis, a previous resident of Bield’s, Mungo Park Court sheltered housing in Selkirk, bestowed a gift of a lifetime when  left a piano to the service, after passing away in when 1999, also leaving  enough money to keep the piano tuned for life.

As well as ensuring that residents at Mungo Park will be able to use the piano for years to come, she also left money for garden improvements, which have been completed, with enough money left over for a new electric fire in the lounge.

Elizabeth de Beaté, current Service Manager at Mungo Park said: “The piano has been a fantastic source of entertainment for residents and staff alike over the years.

“It is used all the time for church and funeral services, functions and regularly by ‘Harmony’ music groups. Residents’ family, grandchildren, schoolchildren accompanied by teachers / parents even get a chance to entertain us all, which is always uplifting and thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Bield, one of Scotland’s leading providers of housing and care for older people, is now hoping that Bessie’s generosity will be replicated across the country as part of its new legacy campaign.

Brian Logan, Chief Executive of Bield said “We hope our legacy campaign will help us to continue this care, any donation big or small is always very much appreciated by both ourselves and those who use our services.

“Furthermore, it will allow us to maintain our ‘Free to Be’ philosophy which is at the heart of what Bield is all about, allowing people to make their own choices while still providing support when needed.”
