For more than 19 years the club has been providing tennis coaching, weeklong tennis and multisport courses in and around Perth – located at Kinnoull Tennis Club, Perth, one of the leading clubs in the North County.

Now thanks to the donation, starting in September, the club hopes to deliver tennis coaching to more of the schools within the area, and in particular, those who have never been introduced to tennis before.

The initiative has also received backing from Scottish tennis coach Judy Murray, who will be attending the launch of its tennis camp on July 27th.

Kinnoull TC Senior Club Coach¸ Jane Morrison, is thrilled with the recent wave of support and hopes the club will go from strength to strength in 2015.

Jane also went on to outline what the club has in store for the rest of the year and how the sponsorship will greatly benefit the budding tennis players of the future.

She said: “Thanks to support from CALA we are now able to fund tennis coaching for various schools within the area and also provide them with the equipment such as balls and rackets.

“In addition, it will help towards our scholarship programme, which provides opportunities for children who would not normally be able to play the sport.

“We will be following up all of our coaching plans with a big tennis festival involving all the schools.

“We are aiming to bring the local sporting community together in the area and think this is a great way to do that, while also promoting healthy competition between all the budding tennis players.”

MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Sarah Stanger, Director of Sales and Marketing at CALA Homes East, is delighted to help sponsor the sports club – and is hopeful the funding from CALA will help to make a substantial difference.

She said: “When we discovered Scottish Tennis Holidays we knew immediately it was an initiative we wanted to support.

“The club promotes strong community togetherness and that is an ethos we certainly have In common here at CALA.

“We’re thrilled the sponsorship will allow children who may have not had the opportunity before to participate in professional tennis coaching and hopefully in the future we can say we helped the next Andy Murray discover the game. A Judy Murray backed initiative which aims to eradicate tennis' elitist status by providing coaching to children has been giving a helping hand thanks to a £1000 donation from CALA homes. “At CALA one of our main aims is to create developments which promote and encourage a community spirit.

“When we launched St Marys in 2014 we were adamant to find a local initiative we could partner with which also followed this ethos, and Scottish Tennis Holidays ticks all of those boxes.”
