Edinburgh’s Telford College featured online with news of their up and coming performance of A Clockwork Orange.

Students are to perform a stage version of the classic novel this evening with a twist-as the lead roles being played by women.

The show, featuring students from Telford College’s Performing Arts Studio Scotland (PASS), is aiming to redefine Anthony Burgess’ controversial novel about a violent youth culture.

Scott Johnston, the Programme Area Leader at PASS said: “We are delighted to be performing at this year’s Edinburgh College’s Festival and the performers here at PASS have been working hard for months in preparation.

“As the play is so well known it was particularly challenge for the students and the fact that we are re-defining the central roles by using female rather than male students the pressure they are feeling was further increased.

“Most of the student’s performing in ‘A Clockwork Orange’ hail from Edinburgh originally, so it will be a good demonstration of local talent. We hope to do Anthony Burgess and film director Stanley Kubrick proud!”
