02 OCT IIP Business Month TO USE-2Companies from across Perthshire are being urged to seize a ‘gilt-edged opportunity’ to help their businesses to develop and grow.

The second Perth and Kinross Business and Enterprise Month offers an innovative and exciting programme of free events designed to assist, encourage and inspire local businesses to become success stories.

The initiative will also feature a flagship business excellence event at the Perth Concert Hall on November 6 with keynote speeches from Mike Cantlay, Chairman of VisitScotland, and a number of other successful business people  including Iain Hutchison of Merlin ERD and George Taylor of Mackie’s Crisps.

Perth and Kinross Council, Perthshire Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise North East Trust, Federation of Small Businesses, Business Gateway, Perth College Centre for Enterprise and Scottish Enterprise have developed the programme which runs from 29th October until 28th November.

A spokesman for the group said the Perth and Kinross Business and Enterprise Month aims to offers something of value to every business, regardless of size or nature of their activity.

He said: “Perth City Region is one of Scotland’s fastest growing areas. Businesses of all sizes and sectors thrive here and enjoy operating in an area that supports their strategic objectives while offering a fantastic quality of life.

“The Perth and Kinross Business and Enterprise Month aims to both galvanise and enhance these attributes across the local business community.

“This will be a gilt-edged opportunity for businesses from all sectors to be inspired, entertained, challenged and encouraged to consider new ways of thinking to develop and grow.

“Businesses will also be made fully aware of the huge amount of local support available to help them achieve their objectives.

“We have pulled together a comprehensive programme of inspiring keynote speakers, innovative workshops, expert panels and targeted exhibitions that will bring genuine benefits and value to any business.

Engagement

The month – which includes the Perthshire Chamber of Commerce Business Star Awards on November 21 – will cover almost every topic related to business including innovations, digital marketing, social media, accessing finance, sales, sustainability and enterprise.

The programme offers engagement through a wide range of formats from one to one surgeries and small workshops to larger seminars and full day conferences.

The event’s main sponsor is Fairways, the largest independent provider of recruitment solutions, HR business support and training specialists of its kind across Tayside, Perth and Kinross.
